Zeisser, Habiger & Comp. was a chandelier and art bronze factory in Vienna .

history

The beginnings of the factory go back to the year 1892, when the production of chandeliers and bronzes was started under the Anton Zeisser company in Vienna. The increasing popularity of the products and the resulting increase in sales from year to year made it appear advisable to undertake a thorough remodeling and enlargement of the factory rooms and the entire business.

For this purpose the company Zeisser, Habiger & Comp. founded (later: Society for lighting fixtures, formerly Zeisser, Habiger & Comp. ). The factory was relocated to Neustiftgasse 72 in the 7th district and equipped with the most modern facilities. The operating power was taken from the cable network of the Wiener Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft (WEG) and fed to numerous electric motors , the work rooms were electrically illuminated. A fire alarm system was also installed in order to provide rapid assistance in the event of a fire hazard.

The factory that we moved into in 1894 fully justified our expectations, as 300 people were already working there by the middle of 1898 and the sales area for the products expanded from year to year.

The workplaces included the sculptor and drawing studio , where the contemporary and artistically appropriate designs were created for the work, which secured the company a place in the Austrian art industry. The rest of the workrooms were workshops for the various trades that were used in manufacturing . The factory's products were primarily lighting fixtures and chandeliers for electric and gas light , as well as candle lighting, as well as artificial bronze, English brass bedsteads and luxury bronze furniture .
