Zhang Yuning ( Chinese  張玉寧  /  张玉宁 , Pinyin Zhāng Yùníng ; born January 5, 1997 in Cangnan , Zhejiang ), known in German-speaking countries under the name order Yuning Zhang , is a Chinese football player . He is under contract with Beijing Guoan .

Career

society

In 2008, Zhang began his career in the youth of Hangzhou Greentown . In 2015 he made the leap into the professional squad, for which he was not used in the league, but made his debut in the Chinese cup competition against Wuhan Hongxing on May 13, 2015 . He also scored his first goal in the game that ended 1-1.

On July 1, 2015, Zhang moved to the Dutch first division club at Vitesse Arnheim , with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2017. Zhang made his first appearance for Vitesse on February 13, 2016 in a 3-0 win against SC Heerenveen . In a league game against Roda JC Kerkrade he scored after a cross from Guram Kashia headed the 2-1 winner in stoppage time; this goal was his first for Vitesse and the first by a Chinese in the Eredivisie.

In July 2017, West Bromwich Albion acquired the transfer rights to Zhang, provided him with a contract that ran until June 30, 2020 and loaned him to Werder Bremen for two years in the Bundesliga . After he had not played a competitive game in the 2017/18 season , the loan was ended prematurely.

For the season 2018/19 returned Zhang returned to the Netherlands and joined for a year on loan at ADO Den Haag on. After six substitutions in the Eredivisie , the loan ended at the end of February 2019, after which Zhang returned to his home country and moved to Beijing Guoan .

National team

For China's U17s , he scored two goals at the 2012 U-16 Asian Football Championship . After further appointments to the U20 and U23 , for which he scored a total of seven goals, he made his debut for the A selection on June 3, 2016 in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago . At this encounter, Zhang met twice and provided another assist; China won the game 4-2.
