The circle Zhenxiong ( 镇雄县 , Zhenxiong Xiàn ) is a group of prefecture-level city Zhaotong the Chinese province of Yunnan on the border with the province of Guizhou . It has an area of 3,696 km² and at the end of 2015 had a registered population of 1,583,508 inhabitants.
geography
Zhenxiong is located in the northeast of Yunnan Province at a distance of 598 kilometers from the provincial capital Kunming and 265 kilometers from the district government in Zhaotong. The district has a north-south extension of 54 kilometers and a west-east extension of 99 kilometers.
In 2015, 919 millimeters of precipitation fell and the district received 1169 hours of sunshine. The annual average temperature was 12.9 ° C.
population
At the end of 2015, Zhenxiong had 1,583,508 residents. The birth rate was 11.3 ‰, the death rate was 4.38 ‰. Around 710,000 people were part of the urban population, the proportion of the urban population had increased by almost 3 percentage points compared to 2014.
The 2000 population census showed a total population of 1,097,093 people in 270,750 households, of whom 569,255 were men and 527,838 women.
About 9.8% of the population belong to national minorities . At the end of 2015, there were 96,060 Yi , 45,563 Miao , 6226 Bai and small groups of 14 other minorities registered in Zhenxiong .
Administrative structure
At the community level, the district consists of three street districts , twenty large communities and seven communities (two of which are nationality communities). These are:

- Large communities Poji (泼 机 镇), Heishu (黑 树 镇), Muxiang (母 享 镇), Dawan (大 湾镇), Yile (以 勒 镇), Chishuiyuan (赤 水源 镇), Mangbu (芒 部 镇), Yuhe (雨 河镇), Luokan (罗坎 镇), Niuchang (牛场 镇), Wude (五 德 镇), Potou (坡头 镇), Yigu (以 古镇), Changba (场 坝镇), Tangfang (塘 房 镇), Zhongtun (中 屯镇), Muzhuo (木 卓 镇), Yanyuan (盐源 镇), Wanchang (碗 厂 镇), Pingshang (坪上 镇)
- Communities Yutong (鱼洞乡) Hualang (花朗乡) Jianshan (尖山乡) Shanshu (杉树乡), Huashan (花山乡)
- National Community of Guozhu (果 珠 彝族) of the Yi , National Community of Linkou (林口 彝族 苗族 苗族) of the Yi and Miao
The seat of the district government is in the street district Wufeng. At the village level, the above-mentioned administrative units are made up of 254 villages .
economy
In 2015, the gross domestic product of Zhenxiong was 9.143 billion yuan , an increase of 9.6% compared to 2014. Agriculture contributed 1.37 billion yuan, forestry 63 million yuan, animal husbandry 2.43 billion yuan, and industry 1.37 billion yuan to the gross domestic product. Among other things, on 142,000 hectares of arable land, on which 500,000 tons of food were produced. More than a million pigs were kept. Coal, limestone and marble are mined and numerous plants are grown for traditional Chinese medicine .
