Zoltán László Tőke (born July 1, 1994 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a Romanian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract at ASC Corona 2010 Brașov in the MOL League since 2015 .

Career

Club

Zoltán Tőke, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority , began his career at HSC Csíkszereda . After initially playing in the U18 leagues of Romania and Hungary for the traditional Szekler club in Transylvania, he made his debut in the Romanian ice hockey league in the 2011/12 season . In 2012 he moved to Hungary to Debreceni HK , where he first stood in the U20 leagues Hungary and Slovakia in goal before the season 2014/15 team men moved to the first straight into the multinational MOL League was taken . In 2015 he returned to Romania and has since been under contract at ASC Corona 2010 Brașov , for which he mainly plays in the MOL league. In 2017 he won the Romanian championship title with Corona .

International

Unlike other Szeklers who play for Hungary , Tőke plays internationally for his native Romania . He took part in the junior division at the U18 World Championships in 2010 , 2011 and 2012 , when he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament, as well as the U20 World Championships in 2012 , when he had the second best catch rate and, together with the Estonian Aleksei Arno , the second lowest goals against his compatriot Szabolcs reached Szakács , in 2013 , when he was awarded as the goalkeeper of the tournament, and in 2014 he participated in Division II.

He was part of the men's national team for the first time at the 2017 World Cup in Division I, when he made a significant contribution to the promotion of the Romanians to Division I with the best catch rate and the lowest goals against goals of the tournament. There he played at the 2018 World Cup .
