Zschepen is a district of the large district town of Delitzsch in the northern Saxony district of the Free State of Saxony . The place was incorporated on July 1, 1950 to Selben and with this on January 1, 1994 to Döbernitz . Since March 1st, 2004 it has been part of Delitzsch.

Geographical location

Zschepen is located southeast of Delitzsch and east of Lobers .

history

Until 1815, Zschepen belonged to the Electoral Saxon office of Delitzsch . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place became part of Prussia and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which it belonged until 1952. On July 1, 1950, the incorporation took place after the same. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Selben mit Zschepen was assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 .

On January 1, 1994, Brodau , Döbernitz, Beerendorf and Selben merged to form the municipality of Döbernitz . As a result of the incorporation of Döbernitz into the city of Delitzsch, Selben and Zschepen have been districts of the city of Delitzsch since March 1, 2004.

The Bitterfeld – Leipzig railway runs to the west of the village . The closest train station is in Delitzsch.

Culture and religion

The church of Zschepen has a half-timbered tower from the 17th century. Local clubs are the SV Grün-Weiß Selben and the Carneval-Club Selben / Zschepen.
