He came to Prussia through the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna and in 1816 was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which he belonged until 1952. In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Döbernitz was assigned to the newly tailored Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 .
On July 1, 1950, the place Zschepen was incorporated into Selben. On January 1, 1994, the localities of Beerendorf, Brodau and Selben with the district of Zschepen were incorporated into Döbernitz as a result of the Saxon municipal area reform, creating the larger municipality of Döbernitz . In 1999 Döbernitz and the city of Delitzsch founded an administrative partnership.
By resolution of the then city or municipal council of Delitzsch and Döbernitz, the community was incorporated into the city of Delitzsch on March 1, 2004, with its districts.
