Laue (Slavic: luge for grass swamp or meadow land) is a district of the large district town of Delitzsch in the northern Saxony district of the Free State of Saxony . The community was first confirmed in a document in 1378 and incorporated into Delitzsch on March 1, 1994. The district has around 190 inhabitants (as of 5/2020).
location
The district of Laue is about six kilometers northeast of the city center of Delitzsch. The Lober-Leine Canal runs south from the northwest and the B 183a from the southwest . In the northeast, the municipality borders on Sausedlitz , in the southeast on Spröda and in the west on Benndorf .
history
The community of Laue was first mentioned in 1378 as Luge . Further mentions come from the years 1518 ( Lugk ) and 1535 ( Lawe ). In 1350 the village was in the "margravial-Meißnischen districtus Deltsch". In 1445 it was mentioned in the electoral Saxon care of Delitzsch. From 1503 to 1547 Laue was in the ducal, then until 1806 electoral and from 1806 in the royal Saxon office of Delitzsch of the Leipzig district. In 1815 the community was assigned to Prussian and the administrative district of Merseburg in the province of Saxony . Laue was occupied by American and later Soviet troops in 1945. In 1947 the place was assigned to the state of Saxony-Anhalt . According to the administrative territorial reform of 1952 Laue belonged to the GDR - Leipzig district of. Laue was incorporated into the city of Delitzsch on March 1, 1994 together with the town of Benndorf.

politics
Laue has its own local council with seven seats and a local chief and deputy. In the last local council elections on May 25, 2014, five seats went to the Free Voters (66%), with the fifth seat not being allocable as only four candidates were nominated. The other two seats were given to the SPD (26.6%), for which the second seat could not be allocated either. The remaining 7.4% went to other parties, none of whom received a seat. The mayor is Thomas Görner (FW), deputy Carsten Hesse (SPD). The next election is expected in 2019.
Fire brigade, clubs, sights
societies
The association Laue - Land und Menschen e. V. is a non-profit association for the promotion and organization of local community life. This included the reconstruction of the village bread oven on the central Anger. This is still used regularly by the residents.
In 2005 the association "Motorsport Team Görner eV" was founded, the family of the same name has been active in racing for over 40 years. Since 1998 they have been successfully participating in mountain and circuit races in historic motorsport via the ADMV and ADAC.
fire Department
The Laue Voluntary Fire Brigade was founded in 1889. It consists of an operations department, an age and honor department and a youth fire department. The emergency vehicle is an equipment vehicle replenishment (GW-N) with a load-bearing sprayer trailer (TSA). In 2019 the operations department moved out for 19 operations. The local fire brigade Laue forms with the local fire brigade Beerendorf and the local fire brigade Spröda-Poßdorf, the fire brigade east (LZ-Ost), the local fire brigade Delitzsch.
Village church
The baroque hall church with a western roof turret and western tower was built in 1739 in place of an older building. On the southern wall of the hall there is a wall niche with a late Gothic iron grille door. A sandstone baptismal font from 1591 stands in front of the simple altar with a baroque portico pulpit. On the north side there is a colorful patronage box ( sacristy ). The baroque galleries date from around 1739. The organ with a three-part front comes from the second half of the 19th century . The bell tower houses a late Gothic bronze bell from the early 15th century. The church was renovated from 1964 to 1970. In the meantime, further work is taking place to maintain the building fabric.
