Poßdorf is a district of the large district town of Delitzsch in the northern Saxony district of the Free State of Saxony . It was incorporated into Spröda on July 1, 1950 , with which it has belonged to Delitzsch since January 1, 1997.

Geographical location

Poßdorf is located northeast of Delitzsch am Leinebach. In the north is the Seelhausen lake and the state border with Saxony-Anhalt .

history

Until 1815, Poßdorf belonged to the Electoral Saxon office of Delitzsch . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the place became part of Prussia and was assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony in 1816, to which it belonged until 1952.

On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Spröda . In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, the place with Spröda was assigned to the newly cut Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was added to the Delitzsch district in 1994 . Spröda and Poßdorf have been districts of Delitzsch since January 1, 1997.
