action

Sound engineer Kim and successful lawyer Alex are a happy couple. They met the little orphan Maily on a business trip in Thailand and now want to adopt her. But because according to a new law in Thailand only married couples are allowed to adopt, they are looking for someone who agrees to a marriage of convenience. But none of her friends want to participate.

That's why Alex asks her sixteen-year-old brother César, who is currently in financial difficulties with his dealership. As compensation for his help, Alex offers to help him with the financial restructuring of his dealership. César agrees and flies to Thailand with Kim. The two can't stand each other and when they are picked up at the airport, not by the manager of the orphanage, who suffers from malaria, but by the suspicious Basque doctor Doctor Luix, their fictitious marriage threatens to be exposed.

But César and Kim manage to come to terms with each other. But when César fell slightly ill and went to a pharmacy in Bangkok with Luix, not only his watch but also Kim's papers were stolen. However, César initially only noticed the loss of the watch that Luix was able to retrieve. When he is blackmailed the next day, however, that he can get the papers back for 50,000 baht , Luix helps him again, who can also get the stolen papers back. Meanwhile, César gets into a fight with a disabled person, which is why he is taken to prison by the police, where he has to endure under harsh conditions.

Luix and Kim are now looking for the lawyer Piok Niok, who says he can only reduce the prison sentence from ten to five years. So Alex travels from Paris and she also manages to get her brother out of prison by cleverly negotiating with the other side. Meanwhile, Luix is enthusiastic about Alex and falls in love with her, which makes Kim jealous. Now the four of them are finally going to the orphanage where César and Kim pick up Maily. But the manager doesn't let them go straight away; they should first get to know Maily in their familiar surroundings. Since Maily should only spend the time with her "parents", Luix and Alex do something of their own. After all, everything goes smoothly and César, Kim and Alex travel to Paris with Maily.

Three months later, Luix also decided to move to Paris because of Alex. He continues to raise his hopes, although César now reveals to him that she is homosexual. Luix doesn't let that get him down and you can see in numerous photos during the credits how the four live together with Miley as a family.

criticism

“The acting duo Clavier / Reno had a great cinematic success with“ The Visitors ”. Unfortunately, Christian Clavier, who is also directing this for the first time, is a bit too heavy when it comes to slapstick. "

“Attractively mixed together with ingredients from the“ Green Card ”and the second“ Hangover ”, the boisterous slapstick with its exotic backdrops and rough gags is pleasing. No question about it: Jean Reno is back on the road to success. "
