Two lost sheep is a German TV film directed by Sylke Enders from 2016 with Andrea Sawatzki and Franz Hartwig in the leading roles. The film premiered on June 29, 2016 at the Munich Film Festival .

action

Rebecca Fitz, called "Fitzi", sacrificed a lot to become an actress. It is all the more difficult for her to see that her career has failed. She is broke and can no longer pay her rent. Eventually she has to go to the employment office, but Fitzi is not ready to retrain for a normal office job.

Without further ado, she accepts a lucrative offer from an old school friend, Bishop Gerlach. His son Thaddäus is largely free of talent as a Protestant pastor. Fitzi has three weeks to coach him so that he does not lull the congregation to sleep during his important sermon on Reformation Day.

However, she quickly realizes that this task is hardly manageable, since Squidward actually has no talent. In addition, through her he realizes that he has taken the wrong path in life - just like her. Eventually they fall in love.

reception

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach wrote that the ZDF tragicomedy did not keep up with the "modern self-optimization nonsense" and kept the "middle - between both characters, two generations, two attitudes and between problem awareness and easy pace". Andrea Sawatzki plays "her compulsive, hyperactive egocentric simply great". According to the newspaper DerWesten, her counterpart, Franz Hartwig, is “the icing on the cake” in “his role as a lackluster, sticky pastor” in “this comedy, which is staged a little too maudlin towards the end”.

Awards

Andrea Sawatzki and Franz Hartwig each received a nomination for best actor in a comedic role at the German Acting Award 2017.

Audience rate

When it was first broadcast on October 20, 2016 on ZDF, the film reached a rate of 3.56 million viewers with a market share of 11.1%. Despite the first edition of the sixth season of The Voice of Germany , this represents a disappointing rate, whereby the film achieved a decent market share of 6.4% with a younger audience between 14 and 49 years with around 720,000 viewers.
