Elizur H. Prindle

Elizur H. Prindle (born May 6, 1829 in Newtown , Connecticut , † October 7, 1890 in Norwich , New York ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1871 and 1873 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Elizur H. Prindle completed his preparatory studies. He attended the local academy in Homer . Then he studied law . He began practicing after receiving his license to practice law in 1854. He moved to New York and practiced as a lawyer in Norwich, Chenango County . In 1859, he became the Chenango County District Attorney - a position he held until 1863. He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1863 . He then attended the New York Constituent Assembly in 1867 and 1868 . Politically, he belonged to the Republican Party .

In the congressional elections of 1870 for the 42nd Congress , Prindle was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 19th electoral district of New York , where he succeeded Charles Knapp on March 4, 1871 . He retired from the after March 3, 1873 Congress of.

After his time in Congress he practiced as a lawyer again. He died in Norwich on October 7, 1890 and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery .
