:Hi, Mxcatania. I think I understand your reasoning for creating this category and [[:Category:Macau Grand Prix drivers]]. But I think some people might think they are unnecessary. I'm wondering whether it might be a good idea to discuss them at WP:MOTOR to gain consensus for their retention before you go to the effort of adding the categories to a lot of articles. Argentine Notice Board

You are kindly invited to join the Argentine Notice Board. -Mariano 07:55, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

La Paternal

I saw you moved the La Paternal, Buenos Aires article to La Paternal (Buenos Aires). This produced a series of redirects from the original name in a number of pages, such as Barrios of Buenos Aires and the {{Barrios of Buenos Aires}} template. Even though it is arguable which format is more convenient, the current naming of the neighbourhoods is that of , Buenos Aires. I'm reverting the name of the article to its original, in order to aviod mixed naming and redirects. If you wish to propose a renaming of the neighbourhoods, please do so both at Barrios of Buenos Aires, and more important at Wikipedia talk:Argentina-related regional notice board. Thanks, and good wiking. Mariano(t/c) 08:23, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting in Categories

Hi Mx! You have been fixing the categories of several articles, but in so, you have added accents and other special characters to the sorting string for them. The problem for this is that they are then sorted by ASCII number, thus putting ñ way after the z instead of after the n. Same thing happens with accented vowels (á, é, í, ó, ú, ü). To prevent this, we usually put the word with simplified simbols. Therefore, José de San Martín is added as [[Category:Argentine people|San Martin, Jose de]], without accents. Have it in mind for the next edits, and good wiking! Mariano(t/c) 07:41, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Aha!

I didn't know about those cats... :)

Did you "advertise" them in the Notice Board?

--Sebastian Kessel Talk 21:19, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I must have skipped them over. :) --Sebastian Kessel Talk 21:27, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I started with the football players, a to z... I did the A and plan to continue in a little while... :) --Sebastian Kessel Talk 22:11, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Goyco

It's very hard to get good free images..... I'll keep that in mind.

--Sebastian Kessel Talk 21:32, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Huracan

True, but we use two wikilinks anyway. Maybe creating the HTA page will help. Don't forget that nobody uses "Huracan de Parque Patricios" except in maybe a poetic way... ask any "Cuervo". :)

Thanks for your vote in my RfA. I'll do my best to live up to the wiki standards and be a good admin!

I'll get on it right now. :) Thanks!

PS: It is a very ugly shirt, dont you think?

That's a fantastic idea! Take it to Template:Football club infobox. There people will be more than happy to help! :)

I'm sorry!

Football Team Infobox

I LOVE IT!

I moved it to the bottom, and added River. Now we need to start doing it for all teams, or it will look ugly. Check "What links here" in the page to see which clubs use it.

By the way, you should've used the talk page first, but who cares now. :)

Hey, I'm not adding anything but an empty space to avoid the "{"s... just in case you want to do it

Topper

Alpargatas is an Argentine company, they probably present it as Brazilian for marketing purposes too. They are both in fact the same. (Kinda like Nike, up to a point)

Welcome Back!

Hey! Welcome back!
Maxi, be bold! Get into the article and modify it!! The only thing you need to keep in mind is that the article is about the FOOTBALL rivalry. The British invasions in 1806 and 1807 (and other things) should only be referenced as a possible origin for the football rivalry, but nothing else. If I can, I will make some updates but you should take the lead and start. :)

Redirects

Maxi, the redirects are there specifically for that purpose. If somebody types the wrong name, they would get the right one. :) Sebastian Kessel Talk 16:21, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Kc, Maxi. :) No te olvides de agregar las paginas al Argentina Notice Board. There are a few of us that will gladly contribute. :)

I deleted Franco Constanzo (Unlikely misspelling), but left (and categorized) the common misspelling of Sergio Goycoechea. Check Wikipedia:Redirect for information about redirection. Mariano(t/c) 08:29, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Racing drivers

I'm not really a fan of car racing, but whatever I can contribute, I will. You seem to be into the subject, so go ahead and create the articles (you surely know better than I do which people are the most important in the field). If they are stubs, it's fine; we can expand on them later. BTW, is "TC2000" or "TC 2000" better? The category is "TC2000 drivers" but the article is "TC 2000"... --Pablo D. Contradiction resolved

You had his birth year as 1972 in a category (which I copied to after his name) and then said he was born in 2005. That's fixed now. - Runcorn 20:55, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I, Paul, award you this barnstar for your contributions across many languages and subjects. You have helped to bring knowledge to the world in the spirit of Wikipedia.

Gracias!

Hola Maximiliano: Thanks for your awesome words on my user page!. I love Argentina. I love all of Latin America.

You know what's funny, that most people think Puerto Rico is very rich because we are part of the United States but the United States does not give a lot of money to Puerto Rico, the dollar we get is hard earned. Consequently, I used to watch old telenovelas from Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina (Argentina I still do) then walk by my city of Caguas and the houses, streets and stores in our streets are exactly like those of the rest of Latin America. So I guess because Puerto Rico is Latin America, we speak Spanish, have the same last names and obviously even Black Puerto Ricans have at least one percent Spanish blood, I feel every country is the same. When Coggi won his title, I felt I won, as I did when Chile's Ceci Bolocco won Miss Universe. We are brothers and sisters in blood, race, culture and language.

I lived next to people from Spain, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico while in Puerto Rico. My uncle and aunt are Cuban by their mother's side, and my teacher was Costa Rican! Furthermore, another neighbor was from Colombia. So you can see where I come from when I say we are one united race and I love my Argentinos as well as the rest of Hispanics, mi hermano.

Bueno mil gracias y Dios te bendiga! We'll talk again hopefully soon1

Sincerely yours, Antonio Mar del Plata, golden city Martin

Thank you

Thank you for your welcome and for the links which you've provided. It is all greatly appreciated :-) Crm18 03:14, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

People by language category

I think you should wait and see what others say. The best way to avoid others staying quiet is for you to repeat the comment you left on my talk page at the discussion on the Categorization talk page. Then if a few people agree, the way would be clear for you to go ahead.

While I'm here, can I ask for some advice? I have recently put Tolkien in Category:Philologists, but looking round the categories in that area, I see that there is confusion between linguists and philologists. Would you be able to help sort that out, if you know which people should be in which categories (or even both)? Carcharoth 17:10, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maximiliano: We would be honored to have you check the Wikipedia:Association of Hispanic and Latin American writers and become one of our members.

Thanks and God bless you!

Your hermano in raza, Antonio Matute Martin

Dear Mxcatania: Thanks for joining the association and for making the article on Jose Ruiz. He was a world champion who was sadly murdered during a robbery. He actually beat a friend of mine, Juan Carazo, by knockout in the first round in defense of his world title! It's an honor to have you among us, and I will go ahead and write about Juan Manuel Fangio II in a moment. Once again, thanks and God bless you! Sincerely yours, Antonio Batata Martin

Avenida Corrientes

Thanks for the "assignment". I didn't do that much research, just translation. I see you have made some additions/ amendments. Maybe you can help out with some of the parts of the Spanish article about which I had no clue? Like for example, what does "morocho" mean? I looked it up and there were several definitions, all different. And there was another phrase I couldn't figure out how to translate: "Punto de reunión de grandes concentraciones políticas de la historia argentina, cuando los políticos todavía tenían poder de convocatoria (más de un millón de personas en cada acto de cierre de campaña en 1983)." By "acto de cierre de campaña" do they just mean like the end of a political campaign? And do you know what "concentraciones políticas" they're talking about? Some specific example might be better than the generalizations in the Spanish article....or any other thoughts or suggestions you might have...Gracias,--Rockero 19:42, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, how was I supposed to know that, from the article? I shouldn't have to look through the Internet, the notability should be included in the article. I have no problem if you remove the deletion notice, as long as you expand the article and specify how and why this person was a notable figure. — Larry V (talk) 19:45, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WPArgentina

Hi! I just wanted to inform you, as a member of WikiProject Argentina, that we are about to start using the {{WPArgentina}} for article categorization and qulification. Please, take a minute to read the project's talk page, as well as the taggin scheme and the Importance guidelines, and make the necesary comments. Thank you for your participation, Mariano(t/c) 08:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hermano, mezclaste Importance con quality!! e.i. importance=stub|class=mid en vez de importance=mid|class=stub. Mariano(t/c) 15:22, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's great that you're using the template - I'll get round to it in a day or two myself. Your use of it has triggered some thoughts in me (as I hoped it would). Mariano and I have suggested Barrios of BA as well as Partidos and Departments should be Mid-importance unless higher. You've put La Paternal as Low Importance. You also tagged it as Stub when I'd call it Start. I don't have a disagreement with those, but I'd be interested in your reasonings so that we can make changes if appropriate to the Importance and Assessment criteria. I'm also not clear if I should use the GA-class tag if the article hasn't been peer reviewed as such (and therefore be a B-class or even A-class, but not GA or FA). Again, do you have any ideas or knowledge on this? Martín (saying/doing) 20:56, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Addition. I just looked more carefully at Wikipedia:WikiProject Argentina/Assessment and it specifically says GA-class should be used exclusively for articles that have been peer reviewed. That doesn't stop them being A-class however, which is the case for Eva Perón. Martín (saying/doing) 21:29, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking about your idea of an Argentine Football WikiProject. If you think you want to go ahead (and I'm sure you'll find interest, including people not yet at WPAR), perhaps we should add a football-specific tag to the banner so that we can then automate the process of page monitoring, etc, etc. Theoretically it's possible to have a modification to the banner that brings up a larger banner with reference to the football project if triggered, but it's worth having the architecture there now even if it's not used for some time. Just a thought... Martín (saying/doing) 10:29, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have returned!

I am back on the WP scene! I haven't been editing as heavily as I used to but it's great to be back edit a few pages here and there...thank you for your welcome and many happy edits in the future! (p.s. come to New York!!) Paul 12:32, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Agustina Keyra, by CeeKay (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Agustina Keyra fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
