The news studio where Chevy Chase reports his weather is an actual news studio in Edmonton, Alberta. A local Meteorologist used a similar board for reporting the weather. In the distance, viewers can see the news anchors from Edmonton, who also starred in this movie.

Plot

The film focuses on a group of elementary students in Syracuse, New York, led by Natalie Brandston try to keep their school snowed-in and closed by stopping a snow plow driver from plowing the streets. Meanwhile, her older brother Hal tries to win the heart of high school sweetheart Claire Bonner, with the help of a friend, Lane Leonard {Schuyler Fisk). Also, their dad Tom Brandston is a TV meteorologist who must face off against a rival meteorologist, Chad Symmonz, in order to have the right of continuing their weather career.

Cast

This is the first of two films to star both Josh Peck and Zena Gray, the other being Max Keeble's Big Move, made in 2001.
