content
The series is about the 11-year-old Lincoln Loud, who lives in a house with his ten sisters, five older and five younger, and therefore often has to endure a lot through them. Each of his sisters has a special characteristic (e.g. Lola, who thinks she is a princess, or Luan, who is a comedian and likes to tell jokes). Lincoln's school, which he and his best friend Clyde attend, also sometimes occurs. Most of the series takes place in the fictional town of Royal Woods in Michigan , where the Louds house, which is also the main location, is.
characters
main characters
- Lincoln Loud
- He is the eleven-year-old protagonist and the only boy among the siblings. He is taller than his younger sisters but smaller than his older sisters, has incisors in his upper jaw that are reminiscent of those of a rabbit, white hair, freckles on his face, wears an orange polo shirt, white sneakers with red stripes and dark blue jeans. He is the only boy, so he also has his own room, which is actually a converted, walk-in closet. Lincoln often speaks to the viewer and explains how best to get along with many siblings. A strange quirk of his is that he strips down to his underwear while reading comics.
- His favorite food is peanut butter sandwiches with sauerkraut, he loves the Burpin 'Burger restaurant, as well as Flips Shakes and the Gus' Games arcade. He is a fan of the Ace Savvy comic series, for which he even drew his own comic in one episode for a competition. His favorite TV series is "ARGGH!", Which is about ghost hunters. He prefers to listen to the music of the band "Smooch" (a parody of the rock band Kiss ) and falls in love with several girls over the course of the series (although his crushes never last long and vary from episode to episode). Despite his stressful living conditions, he is a happy, friendly, but unsportsmanlike child.
- He often spends time with Clyde, Liam, Rusty, Zach, and Stella. He is also friends with Ronnie Anne, with whom he has a lot to do given the fact that her older siblings are a couple. Even if he doesn't really like her at first and denies their friendship in the episode "Save Your Date" and, the two become very close friends and even seem to be in love with each other just like their siblings. Later, when Ronnie Anne moves with her mother and Bobby to their relatives in Great Lakes City, the two start a vlog series in which they share their lifestyle as presenters with the audience (including challenges, character assignments from favorite comics / series, etc. ). He and Ronnie Anne also find Lori's and Bobby's conversations incredibly cheesy.
- Lori Loud
- At 17, she is the oldest of the children and is accordingly dominant. She has short blonde hair, wears white pearl earrings, a light blue tank top from her mother, chocolate brown shorts, light blue ballerinas, black mascara and light blue eye shadow. Her bossy manners are often labeled mean by her younger siblings, but they result from Lori's love for them. She has a fart problem, which she puts on her shoes and threatens her siblings to knot them into pretzels many times. She is also with Bobby, whom she calls "Bobby-Buh-Buh-Bär", and has had a long-distance relationship with him since the middle of the second season. She is the only one of the sisters who has a driver's license and is also very good at golf. She uses the phrase "without a joke" very often. She also loves slow jam music.
- Clyde is very much in love with her up to the episode "Where Love Falls". In the episode "The Tutor" she also falls in love with Lincoln's British tutor Hugh.
- Leni Loud
- At 16, she is the second oldest. She has platinum blonde hair, wears white sunglasses with round black glasses (mostly only as jewelry in her hair), a mint green mini dress with lace, white sandals with mint green bows and red hoop earrings. She is extremely enthusiastic about fashion, often sews family outfits over the course of the series, works in a boutique and runs her own fashion vlog. She describes herself as the prettiest of the sisters, but is also extremely stupid. She is afraid of spiders and shares a room with Lori. She is always very nice to everyone, even though she doesn't understand or misunderstand many situations. Her crush is Chaz, but in the episode "The Tutor" she falls in love with Lincoln's British tutor, Hugh. Her favorite music is slow jam, just like Loris. Your accessories can also be used as useful tools.
- Luna Loud
- The third oldest sister is 15 years old and an enthusiastic musician. She has freckles, paperclip-like earrings, a reddish-brown pixie hairstyle, wears a purple skull T-shirt and boots of the same color, a lilac checked skirt and black studded leather bracelets. Despite her perfectionist streak when it comes to music (her role model is the Mick Jagger parody Mick Swagger), she is sincere and friendly to others. Her best friend and bandrowdie is Chunk (Chester) who is from England. He has a van, an apartment and a job. She inherited her love of British things from her father. She can also be seen almost always with an electric guitar. She's also bisexual as she's in love with both Lincoln's tutor Hugh and Sam, another avid musician. As a child, Luna was originally interested in classical music until she developed her passion for rock music at the age of 9.
- Luan Loud
- Luan is 14 and wears braces and a ponytail hairstyle. She loves to play pranks or tell jokes on others, especially on April 1st when your pranks get so bad that she becomes extremely inconsiderate towards others. Her jokes are mostly very unpopular with her siblings, and only her father seems to enjoy them. She shares the room with Luna.
- Lynn Loud, Jr.
- The 13-year-old doesn't like to be quiet and calm. Lynn is very athletic and always has to be on the move. She lives in the same room as Lucy. She is seldom called "Lynn Loud, Jr." by her father because her name is just like him. She calls Lincoln Stincoln and is friends with Margo and Paula from their soccer club. For her, every day is a single competition that she definitely has to win!
- Lucy Loud
- The eight year old is a Goth girl. She has a penchant for depressing poetry, dark colors and often appears bored. Nevertheless, she loves her siblings very much, and they love her too despite their individuality - or perhaps because of it. In the episode "The Detective Master", she explains that she reads comics about unicorns because she doesn't always want to be depressed either.
- Lana Loud
- She is 6 years old and Lola's twin sister. She loves to play in the mud and owns a few pets, namely snakes, frogs, and lizards. She is also good at repairing things and then mostly behaves like a craftsman.
- Lola Loud
- Lana's twin sister, Lola, is 2 minutes younger. While Lana likes to play in the dirt, she behaves like a princess and takes part in beauty pageants. She shares a room with Lana.
- Lisa Loud
- She is 4 years old but very intelligent for her age. Lisa is gifted, likes bowel movements, often develops strange creams, powders, pills and devices that she likes to try on her siblings (without their knowledge). She is nearsighted and extremely lisping. She shares a room with Lily and watches over her family regardless of their private parts.
- Lily Loud
- As a 15 month old baby, she is the youngest member of the Loud family. So she very rarely does great deeds.
- Clyde McBride
- This young African-American is Lincoln's friend and tries to support him as much as possible. He is in love with Lori, but has little chance of success due to the age difference. He often gets nosebleeds when he sees Lori. He also lives with his two homosexual fathers.
Minor characters

- Harold and Howard McBride
- They are Clyde's fathers. They first appeared in the episode "The Overnight Visit". While Harold is a calm person and a good cook, Howard is an emotional person. In the “Attention Deficit” episode, you can see that they cannot cope with too many children.

Release history
The series was based on one of around 1,000 concepts for animated films that were submitted to Nickelodeon's Animated Shorts Program in 2013 . Selected projects were produced by Nickelodeon as pilot films and entered a competition. But only a few ideas manage to be further developed into a new series. One of them was The Loud House by Chris Savino, a previously successful director of animated films. In 2014, 13 episodes were commissioned. The first season was later extended by a further 13 episodes, which should bring it to 26 episodes. The majority of the first 13 episodes were broadcast on weekdays for three weeks from May 2, 2016. The remaining episodes followed in early June. From July the second half of the first season began to be broadcast. The first season ended in the USA on November 8, 2016. The second season started on the following day, of which in 2016 only the first 3 episodes were shown. The second season was continued at the beginning of January 2017. Most of the time, a “premiere week” was broadcast each month, with 4 to 6 episodes broadcast on working days. Season 2 ended on December 1, 2017. The third season started on January 19, 2018. From the end of 2017, new episodes began to be broadcast on Fridays, but they stopped broadcasting in mid-April 2018 because the audience ratings at these broadcasting slots were very low. From June 2018, new episodes were broadcast again in the premiere weeks. The season ended on March 7, 2019. On March 6, 2018, the series was extended by a fourth season with 26 episodes. The season has aired since May 27, 2019. Since October 2019, new episodes usually run on Saturdays. On May 7, 2019, the series was extended by a 5th season with a further 26 episodes.
In Germany, the series started two weeks after the US premiere, on May 16, 2016. The first 12 episodes were then broadcast on weekdays for four weeks until June 9, 2016. From October 17 to November 11, 2016, all of the remaining episodes were broadcast in four weeks, mostly on weekdays. The second season started on December 17, 2016 with the episode "Christmas at the Louds" and was continued in September and October 2017 to episode 42. In January and February 2018, the remaining episodes of the second season were broadcast. Only the Halloween special "Trick or Treat" was only broadcast on October 31, 2018 and thus represented the season finale of the second season. The third season started on November 5, 2018 and ended on December 13, 2019 on free TV , while all episodes were broadcast on pay TV on Nicktoons on September 13, 2020. The 4th season has been broadcast on pay TV since October 7, 2019 and on free TV since November 8, 2019.
Movies
On March 28, 2017, a film for the series was announced, which should be released in 2020. In January 2019 it was reported that the film had been canceled. About half a month later it was announced that a film about the series would be released on Netflix . A release date is still unknown.
On February 19, 2020, the film "The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas!", Which is supposed to be a live version of the series, was announced. The film is slated to air in the US at the end of 2020.
Chris Savino's dismissal
On October 17, 2017, Cartoon Brew reported that Chris Savino, the series' creator, had been sacked on sexual charges. According to the report, there have been rumors about Savino's behavior for a long time. On October 19, 2017, Nickelodeon confirmed that Chris Savino had been fired, but the series will continue without him. On October 23, Chris Savino apologized for his actions.
Spin-off
On March 6, 2018 the spin-off Die Casagrandes was announced under the title “Los Casagrandes”, which will be about Ronnie Anne's family, which has been seen many times since the second season. In January 2019 it was announced that the title had been changed from “Los Casagrandes” to “The Casagrandes”. The spin-off premiered in the USA on October 14, 2019. In Germany, the series starts on March 23, 2020.
Trivia
- The original title of the series can also be understood ambiguously, as the family has both the surname Loud and the fact that it can often be quite loud in this house.
- The series is based on the experiences of Savino, who spent his childhood in a large family with many siblings. Lori, Lisa, Lynn, Luan and Lana were named after Chris Savino's sisters.
- The creators of the series are often shown as cartoon characters in the background.
