This is a list of flags which have been, or are still today, used on the island of Ireland. It includes flags used in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and their predecessors, both officially and unofficially.

Ireland Flag

Northern Ireland flags

Flag Date Use Description
1921 - Union Flag: the flag of the United Kingdom, and the official flag of Northern Ireland since 1972. Combination of the crosses of St. George, St. Andrew, and St. Patrick: the patron saints of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
(official between 1953 - 1972) Flag of Northern Ireland St. George's Cross, escutcheoned with the Red Hand of Ulster inside a six-pointed star, surmounted by a crown.
