Romeo Miller

Percy Romeo Miller, Jr. (born August 19, 1989 in New Orleans, Louisiana), better known by his stage name Romeo or formely Lil' Romeo, is an American rapper and actor. He is the son of rapper, producer and entertainment mogul Master P and nephew of C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker. He records teen-friendly hip-hop music on his father's Guttar Music label. He has so far released three studio albums and two compilation albums. His fifth album God's Gift was released on December 12, 2006.

Early career

Before Master P made it big Romeo admits that he wasn't always rich and life was hard growing up (mentioned on Wont Stop Cant Stop). He was the eldest of 7 childern. He was featured a in few skits from his fathers early tracks. But Romeo's gift wasn't discovered until one day Percy kept Romeo home to play with his cousins. He came back and Romeo at the age of 4 wrote a rap song with his cousins. He then grew up performing with his cousins and on Master P's albums. He then recorded his debut album all by himself at his home studio as mentioned on MTV Cribs.

Music career

Before all of his success Romeo always had a gift for rapping even at the young age of 4. His father Master P mentioned that he left him home to play with his cousins one day and came home and his son told him he wrote a rap song all by himself. Also before Romeo became famous he was featured in some of Master P's early records. At the age of 10, Lil Romeo followed in his father Master P's footsteps and became a rapper. He beat Michael Jackson's record of the youngest person to get a number one with his first single "My baby". His success came from his two early studio albums, mainly Game Time. He mentioned that he did the album all by himself, at his home studio, which was shown on the show MTV Cribs. Lil Romeo released a third album called Romeoland, with guest appearances from Nick Cannon, Master P, and his new group, the Rich Boyz, but this didn't get as much attention as his previous two. He released two more unnoticed albums, Lottery and God's Gift in 2006.

Romeo opened a new recording label named Guttar Music. Romeo also appeared on most of his father's greatest hits, such as "I Need Dubs". He is in a rap group with his cousins and younger brother, Young V called "Rich Boyz". So far the Rich Boyz have released one studio album but the group appeared on most of the tracks on God's Gift. Since then, Romeo has been working on his new album, Gumbo Station. This will be his first studio album for three years and his first studio album to use the name Romeo. He mentioned on his myspace page that this is going to be his best album yet. Guests will include Master P and the Guttar Music Family and production by Dr Dre. Despite many others in the industry, Romeo will not be changing his lyricial style too much. He has stated that he will not try and toughen up his lyrics saying "Why try and act hard when I'm a role model?". He mentioned also that some songs on the album will make you want too dance, sing and even cry too. He writes all of his lyrics on his records and has said that he has been a ghostwriter for some artists. After the album has been released in 2007, Romeo will be concentrating more on his basketball than his music.

Basketball career

As well as a rapper, Romeo is also a talented basketball player like his father. Master P said in an interview that young Romeo picked up basketball at the age of three and has been playing all his life. He was recently invited to the Reebok-sponsored ABCD, considered the premier basketball camp in the United States. The Teaneck, New Jersey-based ABCD camp is an invitation-only basketball showcase that has produced a host of high-profile players, including Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Stephon Marbury, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James.

On April 13, 2007, Miller verbally committed to the University of Southern California (USC). Feud with Bow Wow

During 2005-2006 teen rapper Bow Wow released a diss song towards Romeo titled: "Fresh Azimiz". Hip hop mogul Master P allegedly exchanged words with rapper Bow Wow backstage at the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Award show on April 1.

Romeo and Bow Wow have had an unofficial rivalry going on for several years and Bow Wow has repeatedly taken veiled shots at Romeo on several songs. Romeo released a single called "U Can't Shine Like Me", and since then the feud has dissipated. Fans claimed that Bow Wow took another shot at Romeo on the track "Don't Know About That" and that Romeo's tracks on God's Gift are aimed at Bow Wow. Fans also point out that a Romeo track as far as Romeoland is aimed at Bow Wow on the song "Cant Stop Us".
