Air Chief Marshal Sir Michael James Graydon, GCB, CBE, ADC (born 24 October 1938) is a former Chief of the Air Staff.
Flying career
Educated at Wycliffe College and the Royal Air Force College Cranwell Michael Graydon joined the Royal Air Force in January 1957 and was commissioned in 1959. Notably he served as Officer Commanding 11 Squadron at RAF Binbrook in 1977 and of the bases at RAF Leuchars in 1981 and at RAF Stanley in the Falkland Islands in 1983.
He was appointed Commander-in-Chief RAF Support Command in 1989 and Commander-in-Chief Strike Command in 1991. He served as served as Chief of the Air Staff from 1992 to 1997.
Later career
He was appointed President of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust in 1999. He is also President of the Officers' Association, a member of the Air Cadet Council and Chairman of the Royal Aeronautical Society Air Power Group. Air Chief Marshal Graydon is married to Lady Elizabeth Graydon.
