The term "Navahermosa" is a compound word of the noun and the adjective nava beautiful. Nava refers to a plain surrounded by hills and its origin is not easy to determine, as there are several. Corominas and Pascual thinks it's a precéltico Indo word, probably from the time of the invasion of the Urnfield . Antonio Llorente, to comment on the frequency of this term in the Salamanca, Avila and the western part of Segovia, locates the origin in the languages of vetones and carpetanos. Beautiful, derives from Latin Formosa, which in turn is derived from SHAPE, 'beauty'. |

Roman remains refer to a glass with faceted bronze handle found in the mid-nineteenth century in Valdezarza that is deposited in the Royal Academy of History. The oldest documents in which it appears Navahermosa dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. |

On May 4 and December 28, 1837, the village neighbors bravely defended from attacks by troops Carlists to command of Brigadier Jose Garcia Jara. |
