(11256) Fuglesang is a main inner belt asteroid discovered on September 2, 1978 by the Swedish astronomer Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809).

According to the SMASS classification ( Small Main-Belt Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey ), a spectroscopic study by Gianluca Masi , Sergio Foglia and Richard P. Binzel at (11256) Fuglesang assumed a bright surface, so it could, roughly speaking, be around trade an S asteroid .

(11256) Fuglesang was named on April 2, 2007 after Christer Fuglesang , the first and only Swedish astronaut .
