(14819) Nikolaylaverov is an asteroid located in the main belt , which was discovered on October 25, 1982 by the Ukrainian - Soviet astronomer Lyudmyla Shuravlowa at the Crimean Observatory ( observatory code 095) in Nautschnyj .
The asteroid was named on December 12, 2008 after the Russian geologist , geochemist , university professor and politician Nikolai Pawlowitsch Lawjorow (1930-2016), who headed the Moscow Institute for Geology of Ore Deposits , Petrography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry (IGEM) for a long time Professor taught. In 1987 he became a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in the Department of Geology , Geophysics and Geochemistry .
