(30305) Severi is a major outer belt asteroid discovered by Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba on May 1, 2000 at the Prescott Observatory in Prescott , Arizona ( IAU code 684).
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis . The timeless (non- osculating ) orbital elements of (30305) Severi are almost identical to those of the smaller one, assuming the absolute brightness of 17.2 versus 14.0, asteroids (324027) 2005 UF 414 .
(30305) Severi was named after Francesco Severi (1879–1961). Severi was an Italian mathematician who mainly worked in the field of algebraic geometry . The asteroid was named on April 27, 2002.
