(3509) Sanshui is an asteroid of the main belt , which on October 28, 1978 at the Purple Mountain Observatory ( IAU code 330) in Nanjing was discovered.
The asteroid was named after Sanshui , a district in Foshan City in southern China 's Guangdong Province .
