(39429) Annebrontë is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 29, 1973 by the Dutch astronomer couple Cornelis Johannes van Houten and Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld . The discovery was made during the Second Trojan Survey of 1973, during which Tom Gehrels scanned field plates recorded at the University of Leiden with the 120 cm Oschin Schmidt telescope of the Palomar Observatory .

(39429) Annebrontë was named on February 19, 2006 after the British writer Anne Brontë (1820-1849), the youngest of the Brontë sisters, who is best known for her novel The Mistress of Wildfell Hall (1848).
