(488) Creusa is an asteroid of the main outer belt discovered on June 26, 1902 by the astronomers Max Wolf and Luigi Carnera .
According to Lutz D. Schmadel , the asteroid bears the name of a figure in Greek mythology. Since it is not known which figure he was named after, Schmadel names several figures of this name:
- Glauke (also known as Krëusa ), the daughter of Creon
- Glauke (also known as Krëusa ), the wife of Aktaios and the daughter of Kychreus
- Krëusa , daughter of King Priam of Troy
- Krëusa , the daughter of Erechtheus and Praxithea .
