(5058) Tarrega is an asteroid of the main belt , of from July 28, 1987 Japanese astronomers Tsutomu Seki at the observatory Geisei- ( IAU code 372) in Geisei in Kochi Prefecture was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Spanish guitarist and composer Francisco Tárrega (1852–1909), who is considered the founder of the so-called new Spanish guitar school.
