(5190) Fry is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 October 1990 by the Japanese astronomer Seiji Ueda and Hiroshi Kaneda at the observatory in Kushiro was discovered.

On July 2, 2015, the asteroid was named after the British writer , screenwriter , actor , director , journalist , poet , comedian and television presenter Stephen Fry (* 1957).
