(8806) Fetisov is an asteroid of the main middle belt , which was discovered by the Soviet astronomer Nikolai Tschernych on October 22, 1982 at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095). An unconfirmed sighting with the provisional designation 1976 SP 8 had already taken place at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj on September 28, 1976.
Mean distance from the Sun ( major semiaxis ), eccentricity and inclination of the orbit plane of (8806) Fetisov roughly correspond to the Dora family, a group of asteroids named after (668) Dora .
(8806) Fetisov was named after the Russian ice hockey player Vyacheslav Alexandrovich Fetissov on July 26, 2000 , two years before he was appointed Minister of Sport of Russia .
