Ángel Fernández Collado (born May 30, 1952 in Los Cerralbos , Castile-La Mancha , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Albacete .

Life

Ángel Fernández Collado studied at the diocesan seminary in Toledo and received on 10 July 1977 by the Archbishop of Toledo, Marcelo Cardinal González Martín , the sacrament of Holy Orders . After pastoral work in two parishes in Toledo he went to further studies in Rome, where he attended the Pontifical Gregorian University in the subject church history doctorate was. After various teaching activities and tasks in the diocese administration, u. a. as a postulator for the beatification and canonization processes of the archdiocese, he became vicar general in 2010 .

On 28 June 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Iliturgi and auxiliary bishop in Toledo . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Toledo, Braulio Rodríguez Plaza , on September 15 of the same year. Co-consecrators were old Archbishop Marcelo Cardinal González Martín and his successor in Toledo, the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments , Antonio Cañizares Llovera .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Albacete on September 25, 2018. The inauguration took place on November 17th of the same year.
