The 1998/99 season was the 77th season of the Elite Ligue , the highest French ice hockey division . Champion was the first time in club history at all of the HC Amiens Somme .

mode

The main round was conducted in two phases of the season, with the ten teams playing 18 games in each phase of the season. The eight best-placed teams in the second phase of the season qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played off. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
