The ÖLEG C 201 was built for the Austrian Local Railway Company (ÖLEG) in 1880 by Ringhoffer in Smichov as the first “real” steam powered railcar in Austria-Hungary - its predecessors were actually baggage locomotives .

The field of application of the railcar was in northwestern Bohemia located Loket Localbahn that from Elbogen to Neusattl led. However, due to its low power and speed, as well as the few seats, the vehicle did not prove itself .

In 1888 he was stationed in Mährisch Weißkirchen , and in 1890 in Olmütz / Hodolein . It was retired as early as 1900 .
