Austrian handball championship 2004/05
The 44th season of the Austrian handball championship began in August 2004 and ended in May 2005. The reigning champions of the 2003/04 season A1 Bregenz was able to defend his title. All clubs managed to stay up this season.

Handball League Austria
Ten teams are represented in the top division, the HLA. The championship was divided into several phases. In the main round, all teams played a simple round trip against each opponent. After that, the league was divided into two groups.
The first eight teams played in a further round-trip round for a place in the HLA semi-finals, while the last two teams had to fight against the best four teams in the second division for relegation.
