history

In 1947 the ice rink was built, which was covered in the late 1950s and named Duhová Aréna . At that time it offered 11,500 places. After converting the standing into seats, 9,000 visitors could still fit into the hall. In 2001 the building was extensively renovated for CZK 300 million . In addition, the energy company ČEZ acquired the naming rights . Before the 2007/08 season, the original plan was implemented and the west stand completed. Since then, there is space for 10,194 spectators in the arena, 8,700 of which are seats.

The hall was the venue for the U20 Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 2002 and the U20 Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 2008, and in 2005 the FK Era-Pack Chrudim hosted a group stage tournament there as a participant in the UEFA Futsal Cup . The hall was also the venue for the 2010 All-Star Games of the Czech basketball league Národní Basketbalová Liga (NBL).

In January 2015, the betting company Tipsport became the hall's name sponsor . Since May 2018 the hall has been named ČSOB Pojišťovna ARENA , after an insurance company .
