Ślęzany (formerly also Ślężany , Śleżany ) is a village with a Schulzenamt of the rural municipality Lelów in the powiat Częstochowski of the Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1365 as Slanzani , when the Vogtamt in the city of Lelów with two Franconian hooves and two gardens with houses in the village were sold by King Casimir the Great . The name originally referred to people from Silesia in Old Polish ( Silesians , see also Slensanen ).
Politically, the place belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship , Lelów District.
After the third partition of Poland from 1795 to 1807, the village belonged to Neuschlesien . In 1807 it came to the Duchy of Warsaw and in 1815 to the newly formed Russian-dominated Congress Poland . In 1827 there were 63 houses with 300 inhabitants.
After the end of the First World War , Ślęzany came to Poland, Kielce Voivodeship . This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the General Government .
From 1975 to 1998 Ślęzany was part of the Częstochowa Voivodeship .
