Žďár (German: Brand , also Planer Brand , Brand II ) is a district of the municipality of Chodský Újezd in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers northwest of the town of Tachov in the Upper Palatinate Forest (Český les) and belongs to the Okres Tachov .
history
The village “Planer Brand”, founded in 1713, belonged with the districts Vorder-, Mittel- and Hinterbrand to the Roman Catholic parish of Hals in the north of the Tachau district until 1946 .
In 1787 the registers, ie the civil registers of births, marriages and deaths, begin in the parish, to which, in addition to Hals and Planer Brand, the neighboring towns of Ringelberg and Galtenhof also belonged. Planer Brand, Galtenhof and Ringelberg belong to the so-called Waldhäusl settlements, which arose from around 1665 near the city of Tachau and whose inhabitants are also named "ex silva" in old church registers.
The extensive scattered settlement in the forests of the Upper Palatinate Forest, between Halže and Chodský Újezd , was divided between the manors Kuttenplan and Plan - Gottschau until the patrimonial rule was abolished . Settlement began in the 18th century. The Theresian cadastre names five properties in Hinterbrand and four properties each in Vorderbrand and Mittelbrand. The Hubertus Cross in Mittelbrand was built during the reign of Count Nostitz-Rhieneck .
Brand belonged to the former Austrian monarchy during the reign of the Habsburgs. The border with Bavaria ran a few kilometers from the village in the west.
To better distinguish the village of Brand from the nearby town of the same name in the Tachau district, the name “Planer Brand” was used, while the other village was called “ Tachauer Brand ”.
From 1850 until its dissolution in 1938, Brand was part of the Plan district and was then assigned to the Tachau district until 1945 . In 1939 346 people lived here.
After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and until 1945 belonged to the Tachau district .
After the end of the war, the Okres Planá emerged again, after its renewed dissolution in 1949 the village came to Okres Mariánské Lázně, which existed until 1960. Since that time it has belonged to the Okres Tachov. In 1991 the place had 40 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 18 houses in which 46 people lived.
Community structure
Today's place Žďár is composed of Přední Žďár ( front fire ) and Prostřední Žďár ( middle fire ). The rear district of Zadní Žďár ( Hinterbrand ), three kilometers to the north , was abandoned in the 1950s.
During the municipal reform of 1960, Žďár was incorporated into Halže , and since 1996 it has been part of the Chodský Újezd municipality .
