ⱴ
The ⱴ is a letter of the Latin writing system , which looks like a small V with a curl.
The character was in use for more than sixty years as the unofficial phonetic symbol for the voiced labiodental flap , for which no symbol existed in the international phonetic alphabet at the time. In 2005, however, the character ⱱ was added to the international phonetic alphabet, which has been the official character for this sound ever since.
