(15003) Midori is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 5 December 1997 by the Japanese astronomer Takao Kobayashi at Oizumi Observatory ( IAU code 411) in the Japanese prefecture of Gunma was discovered.

The celestial body was named on April 27, 2002 after the Japanese violinist Midori Gotō (* 1971), who made her debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of eleven and since 2004 has been professor of violin at the Jascha Heifetz chair for music at the Thornton School of Music ( University of Southern California ) teaches.
