(202704) Utena is an asteroid of the main inner belt discovered by the Lithuanian astronomers Kazimieras Černis and Justas Zdanavičius on April 14, 2007 at the Molėtai Astronomical Observatory in Molėtai , northeast Lithuania, in the Utena district ( IAU code 152). Unconfirmed sightings of the asteroid had already been made in January 2003 under the provisional designation 2003 AK 26 at the Lincoln Laboratory Experimental Test System in Socorro , New Mexico , and in January 2006 (2006 BW 38 ) at the Mount Lemmon Survey in Arizona .

(202704) Utena was named after the city of Utena . The asteroid was named on January 27, 2013.
