(2324) Janice ( 1978 VS 4 ; 1929 WH ; 1934 VR ; 1949 ME ; 1961 UP ; 1971 OC 1 ; 1975 EM 2 ; 1977 RY 4 ; A911 MC ) is an asteroid of the main outer belt that occurred on November 7, 1978 from by the American astronomer Eleanor Helin and the American astronomer Schelte John Bus at the Palomar Observatory on Palomar Mountain about 80 kilometers northeast of San Diego ( IAU code 675).

(2324) Janice was named after Janice Cline , who for years spent years researching asteroids at the California Institute of Technology .
