(2338) Bokhan ( 1977 QA 3 ; 1953 RH ; 1956 EU ; 1971 HG ; 1975 ET 2 ) is an asteroid of the outer main belt that was discovered on August 22, 1977 by the Russian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory (Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095).

designation

(2338) Bokhan was named after Nadezhda Antonovna Bokhan (* 1916) who worked at the Institute for Theoretical Astronomy in Saint Petersburg between 1944 and 1957 and between 1965 and 1974. She made a valuable contribution to the study of asteroids and the orbit exploration of Encke's comet .
