(28019) Warchal is an asteroid of the inner main belt , which was discovered on January 14, 1998 by the Czech astronomer Lenka Kotková (at that time still under her birth name Lenka Šarounová ) at the observatory Ondřejov ( IAU code 557) in Ondřejov u Prahy .

(28019) Warchal is named after the Slovak violinist Bohdan Warchal (1930–2000). The asteroid was named on June 24, 2002.
