(2838) Takase ( 1971 UM 1 ; 1953 TQ 2 ; 1978 RT 1 ) is an approximately four-kilometer asteroid of the inner main belt , which was discovered on October 26, 1971 by the Czech (then: Czechoslovakia ) astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Hamburg observatory in Hamburg -Bergedorf ( IAU code 029) was discovered.
designation
(2838) Takase was named after the Japanese astronomer Bunshiro Takase (* 1924) who worked at the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory and the Department of Astronomy of Tokyo University . With the start of construction of the 105 cm Schmidt telescope at the Kiso Observatory , after which the asteroid (2271) Kiso was named, he returned to the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory and was its first director from 1974 to 1984. In the early 1950s, Takase worked with the Japanese astronomer Hideo Hirose , after whom the asteroid (1612) Hirose was named, on the calculation of ephemeris of minor planets for the Minor Planet Center . The name was suggested by the Japanese astronomer Yoshihide Kozai .
