(2993) Wendy ( 1970 PA ; 1979 YJ 2 ; 1981 DG 1 ; A916 QA ) is an approximately eleven kilometers large asteroid of the central main belt that was found on August 4, 1970 at the Perth Observatory in Bickley , Western Australia in Australia ( IAU- Code 319) was discovered. It belongs to the Eunomia family , a group of asteroids named after (15) Eunomia .
designation
(2993) Wendy was named after his wife by the Australian astronomer Peter V. Birch , after whom the asteroid (3924) Birch was named. This asteroid is the first to be discovered in Bickley.
