(31043) Storm is a major middle belt asteroid discovered by Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba on June 11, 1996 at Prescott Observatory in Prescott , Arizona ( IAU code 684).
(31043) Sturm was named after the Swiss - French mathematician Charles-François Sturm . The asteroid was named on March 28, 2002.
