(6312) Robheinlein is an asteroid of the main inner belt discovered on September 14, 1990 by the American astronomer Henry E. Holt at the Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) in California .

He was named on 13 April 2006 by the American science fiction - writer Robert A. Heinlein (1907-1988), who with Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke of the "Big Three" ( "Big Three") of the English-language Science Heard fiction.
