(78652) Quero is an asteroid of the central main belt , which was discovered on October 3, 2002 as part of the Campo Imperatore Near-Earth Object Survey (CINEOS, IAU code 599) at a Schmidt telescope on the Italian high plateau Campo Imperatore .
The asteroid was named on June 18, 2008 after the Italian town of Quero (part of the municipality of Quero Vas ). Quero is the hometown of the parents of the Italian astronomer Fabrizio Bernardi , who worked for the CINEOS project.
