Organization and management

Self-administration of the AOK Baden-Württemberg

Since the establishment of the social security system , a joint self-administration of insured persons and their employers has shaped the policy of the social insurance funds. At the health insurance companies, this is done through jointly formed administrative boards . In social elections , insured persons and employers decide on their representatives on the supervisory boards every six years. The AOKs are subject to legal supervision by the federal states, the AOK Federal Association to that of the Federal Ministry of Health .

Board of Directors

The administrative board of AOK Baden-Württemberg has 30 members (15 insured and 15 employer representatives) and is the highest decision-making body of the AOK. He has extensive rights of control and information and determines the social and corporate policy course of the company. Its members elect the board.

  • Peer-Michael Dick (Employers Group)
  • Monika Lersmacher (group of insured persons)

District Council

In addition to the board of directors, there is a district council in every AOK directorate. This represents the interests of the insured on site and also consists of up to 15 representatives of the insured and representatives of the employers.

Board

The board of directors takes all decisions independently in order to implement the principles and goals set by the board of directors. Unlike the administrative board, the board of directors of the AOK carries out the business full-time and represents the AOK externally. He is elected by the Board of Directors for a term of six years.
