The Pinehurst ATP Tournament (officially USTA Tennis Classic ) is a former American men's tennis tournament that was played outdoors on a clay court in Pinehurst , North Carolina . The tournament replaced USTA Men's Clay Courts of Tampa , which was held in Tampa , Florida . In the 1995 season, Pinehurst was the venue for the US Men's Clay Court Championships . The tournament was part of the ATP World Series , the predecessor of the ATP World Tour 250 .

Jaime Yzaga was able to win the competition in Tampa twice, making it the record winner.
