A Beautiful Lie is the second studio album by the American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars . It was released on August 31, 2005 on Virgin Records as the successor to 30 Seconds to Mars . The album made the band internationally known and reached chart positions in Germany , Austria and Switzerland, among others .

The song A Modern Myth actually ends after 2:58 minutes. If you wait until 12:26, however, you will hear Praying for a Riot , a so-called hidden track . The single A Beautiful Lie deals with climate change. Attack and The Kill are available as DLC for the computer game Rock Band .

The tracks were written by lead singer Jared Leto . The rest of the band only took part in Savior and From Yesterday . Hunter is a cover version of the Icelandic singer Björk . Track 13 is an American bonus track / Track 14 is an American bonus track from a limited edition CD + DVD from 2006

Publications

Attack was released as a lead single, but could not place itself in the charts. The second single, The Kill , was released before From Yesterday and A Beautiful Lie were also released.

Reviews

Laut.de thinks that the musicseems just as cold, aseptic, and also a bit calculated as the cover. Thanks to producer Josh Abraham, the album iscomparedto Linkin Park and Velvet Revolver : Pathetic rock, cleanly performed, even corners and edges are apparently deliberately set . Also CDstarts.de praised the production of the album: The fact that "A Beautiful Lie" still ignites lies on the once again immaculate production for which Josh Abraham, who pushed the regulators have for Linkin Park, may pat on the back . The hidden track was described as very dispensable and the cover version of Hunter as unnecessary . A total of 6.5 out of 10 points were awarded. Allmusic.com awarded 2 stars out of 5.
