Tomo Miličević

Tomislav "Tomo" Miličević (born September 3, 1979 in Sarajevo ) is a Bosnian - American guitarist . Until 2018 he was the guitarist of the alternative rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars .

Life

Miličević was born in Sarajevo and came to the USA with his parents as a child. He grew up in Detroit , Michigan and has an older sister, actress Ivana , and a younger brother. His parents, Tonka and Damir Miličević, run a restaurant in Los Angeles .

Miličević's uncle is a concert violinist and he was always involved with music. He enjoyed a classical music education; at the age of three he started playing the violin. He later discovered other music - rock and heavy metal - and decided to learn to play the guitar. His parents supported Miličević in this project and his father built his first guitar together with him, which he still owns today and played on the Thirty Seconds to Mars album A Beautiful Lie . He continued to play the violin until he was 19.

Miličević is a trained chef and pastry chef and has worked as a chef and pastry chef in various restaurants. His specialty are wedding cakes.

He was a fan of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars from the start . When the band was looking for a new guitarist in 2003, he was able to convince the band members during his audition and became the band's new guitarist. After taking a break from the Monolith tour for private reasons in March 2018 , he announced his departure from the band on June 11, 2018 via Twitter .

In 2010, he announced the engagement to Vicki Bosanko on Twitter. He has been married to her since July 5, 2011.
