30 Seconds to Mars is the first studio album by the American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars . The album was released on August 13, 2002.

After its release in August 2002, 30 Seconds to Mars hit the charts: US Billboard 200 at number 107, US Top Heatseekers at number 1, France at number 142; Australia # 89 (album charts) and Australia # 12 (rock charts).

The album received mostly positive reviews from music critics . Robert Zefic rates the album 3 out of 5 stars on Laut.de and writes that the album is a good change from usual rock, and he also compares the band with greats like Pink Floyd , Tool and Brian Eno . Rolling Stone, on the other hand, only gives 2 out of 5 stars and says that the album sounds unfinished overall. Plattentests.de awards 5 out of 10 points. Critic Laura Scheiter writes about the album that the album is very ambitious, but the songs sound pretty much the same and you can't hear any real depth.

The album was mostly rated more positively by buyers. The average rating of the users of Metacritic is 88%, the users of record tests rate the album with 8 out of 10 points. Only the users of Laut.de are below the reviewer's rating with 3 out of 5 stars.
